The Gaiety Theatre’s annual Christmas pantomime returns with Beauty and the Beast. Expect a traditional panto format with live music, comic characters, audience call-backs and large-scale stage effects. The story follows Belle and the Beast, with familiar panto roles including the Dame, villains and comic sidekicks. Performances include musical numbers, slapstick comedy and moments where the audience is encouraged to shout and join in. The show runs with an interval and is best suited to children who enjoy lively, noisy theatre. Loud sound effects, flashing lights, smoke, fog and pyrotechnic effects are used throughout.
