Families take their seats in the main auditorium while actors tell the Hansel and Gretel story with songs, jokes and simple, easy-to-follow scenes. Kids watch Hansel, Gretel, the witch and Squawker move between the forest and the gingerbread house, with big colourful sets and clear dialogue. Puppetry, music and slapstick gags keep younger children focused, and the cast regularly ask the audience to shout out, sing along and warn the characters when trouble appears.
