What to expect...
A pirate-themed family concert on the Main Stage with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and presenter Alasdair Malloy. Kids hear music inspired by pirates, ships, and adventures at sea, from Leroy Anderson's Pirate March to music from Pirates of the Caribbean. The concert moves between live orchestral pieces, sea stories, and a quiz called Nautical Notes. Kids sing along to Jamaican Rumba, hear stories about treasure hidden in Fingal's Cave, and finish by learning The Sailor's Hornpipe with the orchestra. It works best for school-age children who can sit through a live concert, but the presenter keeps things moving with audience moments throughout.
