Sunday Family Drop-in Workshop: Point me a Picture
A free family art drop-in in the Shaw Room at the National Gallery. Kids use colouring and sticking to make Pointillism-inspired artwork with artist Mags Harnett.
Sunday, 3 May
11:30-13:30
What to expect...
A relaxed family art drop-in in the National Gallery’s Shaw Room. Artist Mags Harnett leads a hands-on activity inspired by the dots and spots of Pointillism, looking at Paul Signac’s The Terrace, Saint-Tropez (1898). Kids use colouring and sticking to make their own Post-Impressionist artwork. The format is flexible: arrive anytime during the two-hour window, stay for a short visit or settle in for longer, and work at your child’s pace. It suits families with children of all ages and abilities, especially younger kids who like simple making activities with visual examples. Support is available in Irish or English, and the activity relies on visual cues, models, and examples, so children can take part without needing much spoken instruction.
