The Last Moth
Family theatre show for ages 4+ told through sound, movement and song. A moth sets off on a journey through nature as the moon begins to fade.
What to expect...
A theatre show at The Ark for ages 4+. When the moon begins to fade, one small creature decides to do something really big. They’re not as famous as their colourful cousin, the butterfly, but they fly into the unknown on a journey through nature and look for their own inner beauty. The story unfolds through sound, movement and song as the moth becomes the unlikely hero of the adventure.
The show was commissioned in 2023 and is The Ark’s first co-commission created by a child and an adult working together. It was developed by artists Jesse Jones and Naomi Moonveld Nkosi. Naomi is a multidisciplinary artist and former member of The Ark’s Children’s Council, and The Last Moth marks her debut as a theatre maker. The performance is brought to life on stage by performer Niamh McAllister.
During the run, The Ark offers relaxed performances and audio described performances so families can choose a session that suits them best. Touch tours are available before audio described performances and can be booked through the box office.
