Viking Coin Making Workshop
Hands-on Viking coin-making workshop at Dublinia with the School of Irish Archaeology. Kids learn how Viking coins were made and strike their own coin during a 30-minute session.
Saturday, 9 May
11:00-11:30, 11:45-12:15, 12:30-13:00, 13:45-14:15, 14:30-15:00, 15:15-15:45
What to expect...
Kids join the School of Irish Archaeology on Level 3 at Dublinia to try Viking coin striking. The session starts with a quick look at Viking coins, what they were used for, and how they were made. Then kids take turns striking a coin using replica tools with guidance from the workshop team. It is structured, hands-on, and works best for children who can follow short instructions and wait their turn at the striking station. Families can drop into one of the timed sessions during the day and fit it around the rest of their Dublinia visit.
