dlr LexIcon is the main public library and cultural centre for Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, set between Moran Park and the seafront in Dún Laoghaire. Families use it for quiet reading, homework time, weekend drop-ins after a walk on the pier, and as a rainy-day fallback. The children’s library has low shelving, soft seating, picture books, early readers and computers, while older kids and teens use the study areas and desks upstairs. The building also includes gallery spaces, a small theatre and exhibition areas that regularly host talks, workshops and festivals, some of which are aimed at families. Inside, the space is bright, calm and easy to move around, with lifts between floors. It works well for short visits or longer afternoons where kids can settle with books and activities.
