Literary museum in the historic Newman House on St Stephen’s Green, with exhibitions about Irish writing from James Joyce to contemporary authors. Families move between multimedia displays, original manuscripts and quieter gallery rooms, with staff on hand to chat and answer questions. The gardens at the back give kids a chance to potter outside and you can slip straight through towards the Iveagh Gardens. On the upper floor, the LitLab is a dedicated family space with children’s exhibitions, comfy seating and space for drawing or reading. A visit usually takes 1–2 hours, with the Commons Café and bookshop rounding things off downstairs.
