National Museum of Ireland - Kildare Street
Archaeology museum with bog bodies, Viking finds, gold treasures and an Ancient Egypt corner. Free, central and fully indoors.
About
National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology on Kildare Street is a compact, busy museum where families move through Ireland’s story from stone tools and gold torcs to Viking weapons and medieval church treasures. Kids tend to be drawn to the bog bodies, the glittering gold room and the Viking gallery with ships, tools and everyday objects. There is also a small Ancient Egypt section with a mummy and tomb pieces that usually sticks in children’s minds. Most of the visit happens on the ground floor, with wide galleries and plenty to look at, so it suits school-age kids and teens, and younger children for a shorter wander.
