Phoenix Park
Dublin’s biggest city park with wild deer, playgrounds, monuments, and loads of space for walks and cycling.
About
A huge walled park just west of the city centre with long avenues, open fields and a resident herd of wild fallow deer. Families come for big buggy-friendly walks, bike rides and scooter laps, and to let kids roam without feeling penned in. There are playgrounds (including universal-access options near the Visitor Centre and in the People’s Gardens) and plenty of landmarks to break up the walk, like the Papal Cross and the Wellington Monument. It works for everything from a quick run-around to a half-day wander, especially with younger kids who need space.
