Skerries Mills
Historic watermill and twin windmills in Skerries with guided tours, coastal views, a café and craft shop in one compact site.
About
Heritage milling site in the seaside town of Skerries with a guided tour that moves through the old watermill, a thatched four-sail windmill and the large five-sail Great Windmill on the hill. Families walk through the working mill rooms, watch the waterwheel turn the old machinery and hear stories about how flour was milled here for centuries. The tour includes some outdoor paths across the field between the mills with big views over the town and coastline. Afterwards most people head to the Watermill Café for cakes or lunch and browse the craft shop for locally made gifts. The full tour suits school-age kids and teens; younger children can come along but the steps, height and safety rules mean it’s not ideal for under-fives.
